Why is Synthroid prescribed?

How do I use Synthroid?
You can take Synthroid once a day, if possible on an empty stomach, one-half to one hour before breakfast. Synthroid is absorbed better on an empty stomach. If you forget to take a dose of Synthroid, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take 2 doses at the same time.
What are the potential side effects from Synthroid?
Some people who are treated with Synthroid may initially lose some hair, but this effect is usually temporary.
