Lamisil helps to fight back fungal infections. Lamisil has different forms of presentation. In tablet form, it's prescribed for treatment of the toenail or fingernail. How do I use Lamisil?
Take Lamisil by mouth as directed usually once a day. Treatment may continue for 6 weeks for a fingernail infection or 12 weeks for a toenail infection. Another method of dosing involves using Lamisil for one week per month until treatment is completed. Continue to take this until the full-prescribed amount is finished. Stopping Lamisil too early may result in ineffective treatment or a relapse of the infection.
What are the potential side effects from Lamisil?
Side effects from Lamisil cannot be anticipated. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Lamisil. Cream and solution side effects are uncommon. They include burning or irritation, itching, dryness, peeling, and rash. Frequent side effects of the tablets may include: Diarrhea, indigestion, and rash.

The cream presentation form for Athlete's Foot, Jock Itch, and Ringworm: Apply to the affected and closely surrounding areas twice a day until signs and symptoms improve. Use for a minimum of 7 days, but no more than 4 weeks. For athlete's foot found only on the soles of the feet and not between the toes, use the cream twice a day for 2 weeks.
